In an interview with Startup Health, Dr. Wilson explained that “There is a lot of great technology out there, the hardest part is how do you integrate that into a traditional workflow and get that information into and in front of the provider at the time they need it to impact a decision” when the provider is face to face with the patient in an exam room.
PreventScripts uses iShare Medical Messaging API for secure HIPAA-compliant communications to deliver clinical data to health care providers in real-time inside of their EHR at the point of care. For example, within seconds after a patient completes the PreventScripts questionnaire, the patient’s clinical data is available to their physician in their normal workflow inside their EHR and is used by provider when they are seeing the patient in the exam room.
“Wearables … get great data but I don’t get to see it, the patients sees it, and … we don’t have the ability to integrate that” data into the EHR, said Dr. Wilson.
